W Lifestyle is operated by Jared Craven-Griffiths, an Australian sole trader based in Queensland, Australia. In this policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to W Lifestyle. "W-App" refers to our mobile application. "You" refers to any person who uses W-App or visits our website.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use W-App (available on iOS and Android) or visit our website at w-lifestyle.com.

By using W-App, you agree to this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Information you provide

When you use W-App, you provide us with:

• Account information: Email address, used to authenticate your account.
• Profile information: Age, sex, height, current weight, target weight, activity level, and fitness goals. This is used to calculate your personalised nutrition targets.
• Nutrition data: Meals you log, including text descriptions, photos (if you choose to add them), and any macros you record or that we calculate for you.
• Reconciliation data: End-of-day reflections on how your training and eating went.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: Which screens you view, which features you use, and when you use them.
• Device information: Your device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
• Log data: IP address, access times, and app crash reports.

Information we do NOT collect

• We do not collect financial information (no payments in v1).
• We do not access your device's contacts, calendar, or other apps.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.

We use your information to:

• Provide the app's core features: Calculate your personalised nutrition targets, analyse the meals you log, and adjust your daily reconciliation.
• Improve the app: Understand how features are used so we can improve them.
• Communicate with you: Send you important account information (like password resets or major changes to this policy).
• Ensure security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues.

We do NOT use your information for advertising, sell your data to third parties, or share it with marketing companies.

We share your information only with the following third-party services that help us operate W-App:

• Supabase (Supabase Inc., USA): Hosts your account, profile, and meal data securely. Their privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy
• Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA): Hosts our web infrastructure and API endpoints. Their privacy policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
• Anthropic (Anthropic PBC, USA): Processes meal descriptions to estimate nutritional content. When you log a meal, its description (not your identity) is sent to Anthropic's API for analysis. Their privacy policy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy

We may share information if legally required to do so (court order, subpoena, etc.).

We may share aggregated, anonymised information (e.g. "our users log an average of 4 meals per day") for research or reporting purposes. This cannot be traced back to you.

Your data is stored on servers in the United States (via Supabase and Vercel). When you use meal analysis features, meal descriptions are sent to servers in the United States (via Anthropic).

By using W-App, you consent to this international transfer of your data.

We retain your account and personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we're legally required to retain it (e.g. tax records).

Meal logs and profile history are retained for the lifetime of your account so you can review your progress over time.

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct: Update or correct inaccurate information (most of this you can do yourself in the app).
• Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Object: Object to certain types of processing.
• Portability: Request your data in a portable format.

W-App is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

W-App helps you track nutrition and estimate macros. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice. The information W-App provides is for general informational purposes only. Do not use W-App to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Always consult a qualified health professional before making significant changes to your diet or exercise routine.

Macro and calorie estimates are approximate and may vary from actual nutritional content, particularly for AI-analysed meals.

We take reasonable security measures to protect your information, including:

• Encrypted storage of session tokens on your device
• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure database access controls

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via the app or by email. Continued use of W-App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
